When sharing a Pastel canvas, you can control who has access to the canvas and set a password through the Share modal.

One of the best parts of using Pastel is that you only need to share one link to get feedback from clients. However, sometimes you're working with confidential information or unreleased sites, and you want to control who can see your Pastel canvases.

That's where canvas visibility controls come in! On our Studio and Enterprise plans you can choose who can see your canvases and even set a password on any canvas to limit who can access it and leave feedback.

Setting canvas visibility

To get started, open the share modal for any canvas. If you are on our Studio or Enterprise plan, you'll have three different options for restricting access to the canvas:

  • Viewable only to you

    • Canvases with this setting will not be visible to anyone else, even members of your team.

  • Viewable only to your team

    • Only you and members of your team will be able to access these canvases.

  • Viable to anyone with secure link

    • This is the default behaviour for canvases and anyone with the link can access a canvas with this setting.

Just choose the visibility setting you want from the dropdown to change who has access to a canvas.

Setting a password for a canvas

When a canvas is set to "Viewable to anyone with secure link", you also have the option to enable a password. To set a password:

  1. Click "Set up a secure password" in the share modal.

  2. Enter a password and click "Save"

  3. Once you set the password, you'll see a notification informing you that this canvas is now password protected, with the option to remove or change the password.

After a password is enabled for a canvas, anyone accessing the link will be prompted to enter the password before being able to view it.

Those are the basics of controlling access to a Pastel canvas and enabling password protected canvases.
