Being able to get feedback from anyone, without them needing to have a Pastel account, has always been a core part of the Pastel experience. However, sometimes you don’t want everyone to see your comments - whether it’s something that’s not relevant to your clients or you just want it to be for your team’s eyes only, you can use private comments.
Leaving a private comment
If you're on either of our Studio or Enterprise plans, click to leave a comment.
Then select Seen by: Team at the bottom of the comment box. The comment box should switch from white to yellow. Click post comment to leave a comment like you normally would.
Once you leave a private comment, you’ll be able to see the PRIVATE label in the sidebar as well as a message letting you know the comment is only visible to teammates in the detailed comment view. The border around the number will also be yellow.
On the canvas, you’ll be able to see at a glance which comments are private and which are public, without needing to go into sidebar view. Private comments will have a light yellow border as opposed to white.
You and your team can view the private comment(s), leave replies, add labels and export it, just like you would a public comment. Private comments will not show up for your clients or anyone that is not part of your team. They also will not be able to leave private comments.
Editing the privacy of a comment
You can change the privacy settings of a comment after the fact. To do this, simply, click on a comment and select “Edit” from the drop-down menu.
Click the eye icon to change who can see the comment. If the comment is private, the text field will also be yellow.
Click save to apply your changes.
Those are the basics of private comments. Check it out on one of your canvases here.
