With Pastel, you can now review and leave feedback directly on video files using Video Canvases.
Uploading a video
To get started, simply create a new video canvas and upload your files. We currently support most common video files, including MP4, MOV, and WEBM. Once uploaded and processed, your video will be playable in the canvas.
Video controls
Once uploaded, you’ll have all the video controls you’re used to, including a video timeline, play/pause, volume controls, video looping, quality selector and playback speed. All of these are accessible directly below the video in the canvas.
Leaving comments
To leave feedback, play the video and then click at any point you’d like to comment. The video will automatically pause and your comment will be pinned to the specific part of the video you clicked on. Each comment is automatically tied to a specific timestamp and you’ll be able to see the timestamp in both the comment box when leaving the comment and the sidebar when reviewing feedback. When you select a comment, it will automatically scrub to the correct part of the timeline, so everyone knows exactly what you’re referring to.
Managing comments
Video comments work just like any other Pastel comments. You can change comment statuses, reply to threads for discussions, organize and filter feedback in the sidebar, and more!
Collaborating with your team and clients
Share your video canvas just like any other Pastel canvas. Your clients and teammates can click, comment, and collaborate - all without needing to create an account.
