How to turn on your Bookmarks toolbar

Turning on your Bookmarks toolbar in various browsers

No matter what browser you're using, the Bookmarks toolbar is super helpful to quickly get to your most used bookmarks.

Depending on your browser, the Bookmarks toolbar may, or may not be hidden by default. Here's how to get it enabled in the most common browsers.

Chrome

To turn on the Bookmarks bar in Chrome, all you have to do is click on the More  icon in the top right > Bookmarks > Show Bookmarks Bar.

Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + B on Windows, Linux and Chrome OS or ⌘ + Shift + B on Mac.

Firefox

The Bookmarks toolbar is hidden by default in Firefox. To turn it on or back off:

  1. Click the menu button ☰ and choose Customize…

  2. Click the Toolbars button at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Click Bookmarks Toolbar to select it. To turn off the toolbar, remove the check mark next to it.

4. Click Done

Safari

In Safari, you can enable the Favorites bar with a just a few clicks.

In the Safari app on your Mac, choose View > Show Favorites Bar.

Alternatively, you can use the ⌘ + Shift + B shortcut.

Edge

Turning on the Favorites bar in Edge also takes just a few clicks. 

Just select the Settings and more icon, then Settings.
Under Show the favorites bar, switch the toggle to on.
